ALBUQUERQUE, 5-31-19 — As construction continues on the I-25 Rio Bravo Interchange Project, two major traffic impacts are planned for Sunday, June 2 through Tuesday, June 4:
From 5:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 2 – The southbound I-25 off-ramp at Rio Bravo will be TOTALLY CLOSED so that crews can install OGFC, the final pavement surface. Also, southbound I-25 will be restricted to one lane at the off-ramp.
Motorists can use the Sunport exit to University Blvd. to Rio Bravo Blvd. as the detour.
From 8 a.m.-3 p.m. each day on Monday, June 3 & Tuesday, June 4 – Southbound I-25 will have various lane closures throughout the project so that crews can install OGFC, the final pavement surface.
Motorists traveling on southbound I-25 in the project area should expect delays during this time.
Expected to be completed this summer, the I-25 Rio Bravo Interchange project will include coordinated traffic signals along Rio Bravo from I-25 to Del Rio, increase I-25 from four to six lanes at the interchange, improve safety through new bridges and enhanced entrance and exit ramps from Rio Bravo to I-25, improve storm drainage, and open a new multi-use path for pedestrians and bicyclists.
