Eastbound Rio Bravo To Be Closed Between Broadway And University Each Evening From May 21-24, 2018 For Bridge Demolition

ALBUQUERQUE, 5-16-18—Eastbound Rio Bravo will be completely closed between Broadway and University Boulevard from 8 p.m.-5 a.m. each evening Monday, May 21 through Thursday, May 24, 2018 so that crews can demolish the southbound I-25 bridge over Rio Bravo.

The southbound I-25 exit at Rio Bravo will remain open, and motorists will be able to head west on Rio Bravo toward Broadway. However, westbound Rio Bravo will be closed at the bridge, so motorists east of the bridge will be able to enter northbound I-25 using the on-ramp and head to Gibson Boulevard to access westbound Rio Bravo via southbound Broadway.

The northbound I-25 entrance ramp will not be accessible to traffic heading eastbound on Rio Bravo. Motorists will be able to access northbound I-25 by heading north on Broadway to Gibson.

Speed limits are reduced in the construction zone. Motorists are encouraged to give themselves extra time to reach their destination, watch for construction signs and use extra caution when traveling through the area.

More information is available at www.i25riobravo.com or www.nmroads.com. Individuals can sign up for email updates at the project website. All construction is weather permitting and subject to change without notice.
